Are you like us? Have you heard and seen the words “Community Foundation” often, but really don’t understand the impact they have on our community? Maybe you’ve even given a donation to the Foundation and not really understood the power of those funds? It’s powerful! We’ll tell you how! Established in 1990, the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County (or CFMBC) is a nonprofit, community corporation created by and for local citizens. The CFBMC creates positive impact, helps people achieve their charitable goals and collaborates with other organizations in order to improve the quality of life in Monroe County. Listen to our talk with Tina Peterson, President and CEO of The Community Foundation Bloomington and Monroe County, about what CFBMC does and how this organization with a big philanthropic heart reflects the community’s desires for improvement helps everyone from our four legged friends to people experiencing homelessness.
